This is a letter to give tribute to a truly beautiful person. Émilie was my husbands pre-op nurse as he was preparing for excision of two cancerous tumors in his small intestines. 

He has had a very tough year and we both are very sensitive, feel vulnerable and frightened. Émilie visited with me - at one point I mentioned what good oatmeal cookies were sold in the hospital cafeteria - later on during his surgery and my long wait she appeared with a gift of "oatmeal cookies". I couldn't believe someone could be so caring.

When I was struggling with tears she offered to walk with me outside (I didn't want to miss the Dr.)so I didn't go, but she noticed a couple of other women "waiting" and they said they would be happy to have me join them......so I did.

Émilie is absolutely the shining example of what a wonderful, caring and skilled nurse is, in a profession that begs for her kind of human touch - she is a blessing.
